I’m Lindsey Harper – My day job for 13 years has been in project management, event management and marketing consulting.
However, since 1998 I’ve been building, marketing and selling small websites as a hobby. By 2008 I had sold all my “hobby” sites on Sitepoint.com and focused on my Marketing Consulting business.
I LOVE technology, love having an idea and making it happen. I’ve always done web businesses on a smaller/niche focused scale and learned a ton about outsourcing, SEO, Web Marketing & Monetization.
I am now taking that to a different level and launching www.Swayable.com this fall (2010) it’s a larger scale than what I’ve done before, but with my combined “hobby” experience in website building, marketing, monetization and my “day” job of marketing consulting, I’m ready to tackle a bit bigger web project.
This blog is essentially about my startup experience, successes, pitfalls and tips with working on launching www.Swayable.com. I launched spring of 2011 with both a website and iPhone application.
Keep in mind when reading my blog, if you cringe at reading bad grammar & punctuation etc. you may not enjoy reading my posts. I consider this my personal blog and this is the writing style that works for me.
I live in Seattle with my adorable (if I say so myself :0) identical twin girls, and in addition to spending time with my family, friends & obviously my computer… I love downhill mountain biking and crafting.

Hi Lindsey,
I stumbled upon your site through Hacker news and just wanted to give you a pat on the back for what you are trying to do. Your idea is great and I really think it has legs. Congrats on having the chops to outsource the development. If you find the right partner, you’ll be fine. My partner and I have a slightly different problem…we’re coders but lack time to devote to our enterprise so we’re doing some partnering as well.
In any case, we wish you all the best and if you’d like to exchange war stories keep in touch!
Dave
